To complete the process of how to adjust a vinyl four panel sliding glass door, you will need a #3 Phillips head screwdriver, a #2 Phillips head screwdriver, and a putty knife

The first step in how to adjust a vinyl four panel sliding glass door is removing the four adjustment plugs located near the bottom of the door panels. Next, you will open the door slightly and use your putty knife to lift the weight of the door panel away from the rollers. Now you will be able to utilize the adjustment screw without fear of damaging it.

Next, you will use the #3 Phillips head screwdriver to raise and lower the panel until it is in the desired position. You will turn the adjustment screw clockwise to raise the panel and counterclockwise to drop it.

Once you have the panel in the desired position, you want to find the set screws on the four multi-point lock strikes at the bottom and top of your Milgard sliding glass door. First, you will remove the screws that are closest to the handle, and then only slightly loosen the screws closest to the center. After you have loosened the screws, you will want to position the passive panel, so it is engaged with the top and bottom strikes.

Next, now that you have a good locking position, let go of the lock and slide the panel open. Finally, tighten the screws on the passive side. Test the operation and locks before reapplying the screws and moving to the active side.

Next, you will need to position the active panel and multi-point strikes until you have a good locking position and, then, tighten the screws on the active side. Once again, test the operation locks. The final step in how to adjust a vinyl four panel sliding glass door is to install the set screws on the multi-point lock strikes before replacing the four adjustment plugs.
