Beautiful Windows From Around the World

Our last blog focused on some of the most beautiful doors in the world.  Those doors prove to be much more than typical entryways; they are works of art of which anyone can appreciate, regardless of personal preferences.  They are the perfect example of form meeting function and they truly do it in style.

For this blog, we are going to focus on the most beautiful windows that we could find from around the world.  Similar to doors, these windows serve a purpose, and it’s obviously much more than simple functionality.  Some of these windows are clean and simple while others are breathtaking and artistically designed.  However, every one of these windows evokes certain feelings and can stir emotions within us, which is what true art is supposed to do. At the very least, these windows are simply “cool.”

Yes, windows can be plain, functional tools that let light in or allow a gentle breeze to flow, but they can also be bold expressions of art that can stand on their own merits.  They can complement a custom look or be accent pieces which truly are the centerpiece of any home, church, business, or any building, really.  Let’s take a look at some of US Window & Doors’ favorites:

Stained Glass

While researching the most beautiful windows in the world, stained glass windows repeatedly appear near the top of almost everyone’s lists. So much so, that we think they deserve to be recognized in a separate category.  These stained glass windows are not only beautiful, they’re also historic and quite iconic.  Below are some of the most beautiful (as well as some of the most recognizable) stained glass windows from around the world:

La Sainte Chapelle Stained Glass Windows

Kings Chapel Stained Glass Windows

Notre Dame Cathedral Stained Glass Windows

Similar to the most beautiful doors in the world that were displayed in the previous blog, many of these windows may lack energy efficiency (especially the stained glass windows), however, they all certainly make up for it with the “wow” factor.

Almost all of these windows were designed with a certain amount of artistic impression as the focal point and in the case of the custom homes, they do everything to complement the unique, custom work while accenting their own highlights.  Windows, like doors are proof of the effect that art can have no matter if they are found in homes, places of business, or places of worship.
